Very Rare One-Gallon Stoneware Pan with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "IRELAND, DUEY & SHINNICK / MT. CRAWFORD / VA," circa 1870, tapered pan with applied tab handles and tooling to shoulder and rim, decorated on the front and reverse with a large diagonal floral motif. Impressed under one handle with the large, cobalt-highlighted maker's mark, "IRELAND / DUEY / & / SHINNICK / MT. CRAWFORD / VA." Cobalt highlights to handle terminals. Rim of pan is out-of-round. An inverted Y-shaped crack from, extending onto underside. A small U-shaped surface line at base. A few small rim chips. Base chips. H 7 3/8".
