Two-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Incised Decoration, Ohio origin, circa 1840, ovoid jug with tooled spout, decorated with an incised and cobalt-highlighted foliate motif based on Manhattan antecedents, executed over a slip-coated surface. Cobalt highlight to upper handle terminal. Heavy surface wear. H 13 3/4".
