One-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jug, Stamped "C. CROLIUS / MANUFACTURER / MANHATTAN-WELLS / NEW-YORK," circa 1810, ovoid jug with heavily-tooled spout, decorated with a brushed cobalt circle around the maker's mark and highlights to the handle terminals. A 1" chipped section to spout and a small spout chip. Some in-the-firing flaws to surface. Some wear to surface and handle. Small base chips, one of which occurred in the firing, as well as wear around bottom edge. H 12 1/2".
