Rare Large-Sized Stoneware Water Cooler with Elaborate Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "W.H. FARRAR & CO. / GEDDES, N.Y.," circa 1860, highly-ovoid form with tooled shoulder, flared collar, applied lug handles, and squared bunghole. Decorated with a slip-trailed daisy plant bearing three blossoms, each decorated in a different manner. Slip-trailed looping line motif to the left and right. Cobalt accent to maker's mark. Few water coolers by this maker are known. A 1 3/4" crack to edge of one handle. A 1 1/4" line to edge of opposite handle. Significant restoration throughout surface, not affecting decoration. H 15 3/4".
