Rare Alkaline-Glazed Stoneware Ant Trap, Crawford County, GA origin, late 19th century, shallow saucer form with raised circular wall on interior, the surface covered in a streaky greenish alkaline glaze. Provenance: Collection of Dr. John A. Burrison, Atlanta, GA; on loan to the Atlanta History Center, Atlanta, GA since 1981. A 1 5/8" flake to rim. Two minor rim chips. Two small in-the-firing chips to bottom edge. Two pieces of in-the-firing residue to inner saucer. A minor chip to edge of raised inner wall. H 2 1/4" ; Diam. 6 1/2".
