Half-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Elaborate Cobalt Flourish, Madison Woodruff and Romanzo Smith Cortland, NY origin, circa 1867-1869, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder and flared rim, decorated with a large looping line motif accented with swags and spots. Excellent, essentially as-made condition with a 1 1/4" in-the-firing fissure to underside, not visible on interior. H 7 1/2".
