Glazed Redware Spittoon, Stamped "JOHN BELL / WAYNESBORO'," PA origin, circa 1850-1880, with footed base, recessed circular opening in top, and carved oval opening at shoulder, the surface decorated with streaked manganese under a clear lead glaze. Underside impressed with John Bell maker's mark. Provenance: Property deaccessioned by the Miller House Museum, Hagerstown, MD. Two chips to bottom edge. Surface wear. H 4 1/4" ; Diam. (at base) 7 1/2".
