Scarce Small-Sized Stoneware Jug with Iron Slip Decoration, Stamped "BOSTON," Frederick Carpenter, Charlestown, MA, early 19th century, bottle-shaped jug with tooled spout, decorated with dipped iron-oxide decoration to the upper and lower body. Two additional bold iron spots appear on the jug's front. Exceptional size and form. Excellent, essentially as-made condition with a glazed-over iron ping and in-the-firing contact mark to one side, as well as a small in-the-firing contact mark to side of spout. H 9 3/4".
