Small-Sized Stoneware Pitcher with Cobalt Bird Decoration, MA origin, circa 1860, ovoid pitcher with tooled rim, decorated with a brushed and slip-trailed design of a bird atop a looping vine, below wreath-like slip-trailing. Stripe decoration to spout, flanked by swags. Two small chips to side of handle. A small in-the-firing contact mark to bird's foot. A small in-the-firing iron ping to base. A restored 1 1/2" rim chip. A restored, narrow 1 1/4" flake to interior of rim. H 8 3/4".
