Extremely Rare and Important Glazed Stoneware Presentation Harvest Jug, Inscribed "L.L. Wright. / Helena, O.," Signed "H.A. Robendaugh(sic) 6th AKRON. O," H.A. Rodebaugh, Akron, OH, circa 1880's, domed form with wide and narrow pouring spouts, button finial, and twisted handle featuring tripartite, root-like terminals. Surface covered in a mustard-brown glaze with darker brown glaze to handle. Front with incised presentation inscription, "L.L. Wright. / Helena. O.," above an incised floral motif depicting a tulip and daisy conjoined at the stem. Base with incised H.A. Rodenbaugh signature. Featuring distinctive handle construction and two-color glaze, Rodenbaugh's harvest jugs are rarely found signed, making this example an important basis for future attribution. Professional restoration to entirety of both spouts. Otherwise excellent condition. H 12 1/4".
