Glazed Redware Lidded Jar, Norwalk, CT origin, circa 1840, ovoid jar with footed, flared collar, and applied tab handles, the body decorated with wavy incised combing below heavily-incised banding at the shoulder. Surface decorated with daubs of manganese under a clear lead glaze. Original domed lid with similar glazing. Chips and wear to lid edge and knob. 1" shallow base chip and other smaller base chips to jar. Very minor handle wear. Minor wear to rim and body of jar. H (including lid) 11 1/2".
