Scarce Two-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "MARTIN CRAFTS. / BOSTON," MA origin, circa 1855, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder, applied lug handles, and semi-rounded rim, decorated with an intricate slip-trailed design featuring scrolled stems and two blossoms bearing graduated stamens. Cobalt highlights to the capacity mark and lesser-seen maker's mark of Martin Crafts. Shallow chipping and wear to inner rim for lid. Some staining. H 11 3/4".
