Two-Gallon Salt-Glazed Stoneware Jug, Stamped "H. SMITH & CO.," Alexandria, VA origin, circa 1825, ovoid jug with tooled spout, impressed with "H. SMITH & CO." maker's mark at shoulder, signifying the Wilkes Street Pottery's ownership of Hugh Smith and his son, Hugh Charles Smith. Missing handle. A few base chips. A 3" and 4" hairline at base. H 15".
