Three-Gallon Salt-Glazed Stoneware Jug, Stamped "H. SMITH & Co.," Alexandria, VA origin, circa 1825, ovoid jug with tooled shoulder and stepped spout, impressed with "H. SMITH & Co." mark at shoulder, signifying the Wilkes Street Pottery's ownership of Hugh Smith and his son, Hugh Charles Smith. Provenance: Suzita Cecil Myers Collection. Excellent condition. Base chips. A 2 1/2" line to base, extending 1" onto underside. Residue to spout. H 16 3/4".
