Two Stoneware Jugs with Pittsburgh Advertising, Western PA origin, circa 1875, one stenciled "Jacob Dingel, / Liquor / Dealer. / No. 15 / Diamond Alley. / Pitts.;" the other stenciled "SNYDER.ABELL / & CO. / WHOLESALE / LIQUOR DEALERS. / 175 & 176 WATER ST. / 188 & 189 FIRST STS. / PITTSBURGH. PA." Smaller jug in as-made condition with lean to spout and depressed areas. Taller jug with reglued handle including filled sections to handle, cracks throughout, chipping to spout, two small pieces of adhered in-the-firing clay at shoulder, paint to underside, and residue to surface.
