Two-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Western PA origin, circa 1870, semi-ovoid jar with flattened rim and tooling to midsection and shoulder, the midsection decorated with a horizontal fuchsia design above a script "2" with dash below. Impressed two-gallon capacity mark on reverse. Provenance: From a fifty-year private collection. A 1 1/8" chip to side of rim. Some wear to cobalt. H 12 1/8".
