Two Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jars, Northeastern U.S. origin, third quarter 19th century, a one-gallon jar with spotted floral motif, stamped "PENN YAN," NY State origin, paired with a two-gallon jar with stylized floral motif, stamped "F.B. NORTON & CO / WORCESTER MASS." Penn Yan jar with staining to surface, a small chip to interior of rim, a small chip to inner rim for lid, and a very faint 3 1/2" vertical surface line from base, not visible on interior. Norton jar with chipping around inner rim for lid, a faint 3/4" surface line to rim on reverse, and staining to surface. H (of Penn Yan jar) 9 1/4".
