Six-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Chicken-on-Fence Decoration, Fort Edward, NY origin, circa 1880, cylindrical crock with tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a fat-bodied chicken perched on a fence with heavy ground cover below. Fry to cobalt. Restoration to left side of crock, with some restoration covering handle, and a short Y-shaped line to underside. H 12 3/4".
