Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Pitcher with Applied King Gambrinus and Incised Foliate Motifs, attributed to the Wingender Pottery, Haddonfield, NJ, late 19th century, ovoid pitcher with footed base, narrow collar, and semi-rounded rim, the front decorated with a molded and applied design of King Gambrinus raising a stein of beer, flanked by incised foliate motifs. Cobalt highlights throughout. Includes original pewter lid. Some minor chips to image of King Gambrinus, a small in-the-firing contact mark to left side, some old residue from use to underside. and minor flecking of old paint to surface (unrelated to any restoration). H (excluding lid) 9 1/2".
