Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Pitcher with Applied King Gambrinus and Incised Foliate Motifs, attributed to the Wingender Pottery, Haddonfield, NJ, late 19th century, ovoid pitcher with footed base, narrow collar, and semi-rounded rim, the front decorated with a molded and applied design of King Gambrinus raising a stein of beer, flanked by incised foliate motifs. Cobalt highlights throughout. Includes original pewter lid. Small chips to image of King Gambrinus. A small chip and tiny nick to moldings below spout. Minor surface wear. A small in-the-firing surface chip (contact mark) to reverse. H (excluding lid) 11 1/2".
