Rare One-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "D. FISK," Springfield Township, OH, circa 1830, ovoid jug with tooled spout, decorated with a brushed drooping tulip motif, applied over slip-coated clay. Brushed cobalt highlight to maker's mark. Two tight vertical cracks to base area on reverse. A small in-the-firing surface chip (contact mark) to right of flower. Some flaking to the jug's slip coating. H 12 3/8".
