Alkaline-Glazed Lidded Stoneware Jar with Applied Dogwood Motif, Incised "AM," Arie Meaders, Cleveland, GA, circa 1965, ovoid form with flared rim, original lid, and applied dogwood decoration, the surface decorated with white and green glazes. Original lid with flaked, matte white glazing. Underside of jar incised "AM" for Arie Meaders. Provenance: Inside of jar with taped paper label, "HAND MADE FOR / PETER MURPHEY / HWY. 19 - P.O. BOX 653 / HENDERSONVILLE, N.C." Jar in excellent, essentially as-made condition. Firing crack to underside of lid. H (including lid) 7".
