Scarce One-Gallon Stoneware Pitcher, Stamped "CJ PENLAND," Buncombe County, NC, early 20th century, ovoid pitcher with tooled midsection and flared rim, the surface covered in a speckled alkaline glaze. Impressed with C.J. Penland maker's mark at base on reverse. A few rim and spout chips. Minor edge wear to rim and spout. H 10".
