Scarce Three-Gallon Salt-Glazed Stoneware Jar, Stamped "J A C," John A. Craven, Randolph County, NC, circa 1844-1858, ovoid jar with thin, angled rim molding and applied lug handles with depressed terminals, impressed "J A C" under one handle. Excellent condition with a small chip and minor nick to one handle, minor chipping to the terminal of opposite handle, and a faint 2" diagonal surface line near base, not visible on interior. H 12 1/2".
