Three-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Bird-on-Stump Decoration, Stamped "ADAM. CAIRE / PO'KEEPSIE. N.Y," circa 1880, cylindrical crock with semi-rounded rim and applied lug handles, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a crested bird perched on a wide tree stump. Exceptional color. Very nice condition with an approximately 6 1/2" fork-shaped surface line descending from shoulder towards base on reverse, not visible on interior. H 9 7/8".
