Two-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jar, Stamped "C. CROLIUS / MANUFACTURER / MANHATTAN-WELLS / NEW-YORK," circa 1810, ovoid jar with footed base, tooled shoulder, and open loop handles, decorated on the front and reverse with a brushed drape-and-spot motif. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals. A 2" line from rim on front. A 3" line from rim on reverse. A minor 1 3/8" surface line midsection on front, not visible on interior and likely in-the-firing. A 5/8" rim chip on reverse. Other minor rim chips. Small base chips. H 11".
