Two-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Incised Foliate Decoration, Manhattan, NY origin, early 19th century, ovoid jar with footed base, tooled shoulder, and open loop handles, decorated on the front and reverse with an incised foliate motif with splayed leaves, highlighted in manganese slip. Additional manganese highlights to handle terminals. Wear to end of one handle. A few very minor stained rim nicks. Base chips. Two iron pings to one handle.
