Two-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, attributed to John and James Miller, Strasburg, VA, circa 1835, ovoid jar with semi-rounded rim and applied tab handles, decorated on the front and reverse with a brushed and slip-trailed floral motif extending from handle to handle. Brushed cobalt highlights to tops of handles. Two in-the-firing flakes to rim, measuring 1 1/4" and 1". Shallow chipping to one handle. A small chip and nick to opposite handle. A few base chips.
