Slip-Decorated Redware Flowerpot, Stamped "SOLOMON BELL / STRASBURG / Va.," circa 1875, ovoid form with coggled shoulder and attached saucer, the surface dipped in whitish slip and decorated with manganese slip swags flanked by a series of lead-glazed swags, flecked with copper. Unusual two-toned brown color to decoration. Very nice condition with a shallow 3/4" flake to interior of rim, an area of shallow chipping along edge of saucer, some shoulder wear, and a small chip to bottom edge. H 7 3/4".
