Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Canning Jar, Stenciled "NEW GENEVA / POTTERY," New Geneva, PA origin, circa 1875, squat-shaped canning jar with tooled accents and flared "wax sealer" rim, featuring diagonal "NEW GENEVA POTTERY" stenciling flanked by wavy freehand stripes. Unusual shape. Provenance: From a fifty-year collection. A faint 1 1/2" surface line from rim on front, not visible on interior. A minor in-the-firing chip to underside. H 7 7/8".
