Rare Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Canning Jar with Maysville, KY Advertising, Stamped "N. COOPER & POWER," Western PA origin, circa 1870, tapered jar with squared "wax sealer" rim and tooling to midsection and shoulder, decorated with four freehand stripes. Base impressed with the mark of Maysville, KY merchants, Newton Cooper and his brother-in-law, Hugh Power. Desirable form. Rim chips. Inner wax sealer rim with many tiny chips and a few small chips. H 8 3/4".
