Fine Four-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Triple Tulip Motif, attributed to Richard C. Remmey, Philadelphia, PA, circa 1875, ovoid jar with footed base, tall collar, and applied lug handles, decorated on the front and reverse with an elaborate triple-stemmed tulip plant. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals and a wavy line of cobalt underneath each handle. A long horizontal crack to shoulder on one side. A few rim chips.
