Two-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Incised Foliate Decoration, attributed to William Capron, Albany, NY, circa 1800-1805, ovoid jar with narrow-footed base, tooled shoulder, and applied lug handles, decorated on the front and reverse with an incised and cobalt-highlighted foliate design in the Manhattan style. Brushed cobalt highlights to handle terminals. A 4" hairline from rim. Rim chips. A very tight spider crack on underside, continuing partway up body of jar. Small chips around base.
