Small-Sized Vertical-Handled Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Decoration, Manhattan, NY origin, circa 1790, ovoid jar with footed base, tooled shoulder, and applied vertical handles, decorated on the front and reverse with a brushed drape design. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals. One side with an approximately 4" crack from rim and a small in-the-firing contact mark to midsection. A 1" crack to collar on opposite side. A few small rim chips. Minor base wear. H 8 1/4".
