Fine Two-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Incised Decoration, Stamped "C. CROLIUS / MANUFACTURER / MANHATTAN-WELLS / NEW-YORK," circa 1805, highly-ovoid jug with footed base and heavily-tooled spout, decorated with a brushed circle surrounding the Crolius maker's mark and incised and cobalt-highlighted foliate motif below. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals. A 7 1/2" hairline extending from base on left side of jug. An in-the-firing recessed spot to right side of jug. An in-the-firing contact mark to right of maker's mark.
