Rare Glazed Redware Squirrel Bottle, Salem, NC, circa 1804-1829, molded bottle in the form of a squirrel feeding on a nut, standing on an oval base. Incised details to tail and paws. Coggled circle decoration running the length of the tail. Surface covered in a lead glaze over a mottle orange and olive ground with light manganese accents. A prized Southern figural form. Significant restoration throughout. H 8 1/4".
