Shenandoah Valley Redware Wall Pocket, attributed to J. Eberly & Co., Strasburg, VA, circa 1890, wheel-thrown form with footed base, flattened back, and scrolled handle, decorated with a hand-modeled and applied figure of a bird flanked by molded rose-in-hand motifs. Molded clamshell above. Coggled rim. Surface covered in whitish slip under an old coat of varnish. Handle broken into two pieces and reglued. Loss to bird's beak. H 8".
