Three-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "FORT EDWARD POTTERY CO.," George Satterlee, Fort Edward, NY, circa 1859, cylindrical jar with semi-rounded rim and applied lug handles, decorated with a slip-trailed floral motif featuring two eye-shaped blossoms surrounded by graduated trails. Light cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. A 3" X-shaped hairline to shoulder. Chips to inner rim for lid. A 3 1/4" X-shaped line to shoulder on front, not visible on interior. A 2 3/4" Y-shaped surface line at base on reverse, not visible on interior. Chips to interior of rim.
