Three-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Impressed Decoration, Stamped "CHARLESTOWN," Frederick Carpenter, Charlestown, MA origin, early 19th century, ovoid jar with heavily-tooled shoulder, semi-squared rim, and lug handles, decorated with three inverted triangular designs impressed at the shoulder. A thin 4" crack from rim on reverse. Two short cracks to rim above right handle. A 7/8" surface chip near base on right side of jar.
