Shenandoah Valley Multi-Glazed Redware Spittoon, Strasburg, VA origin, circa 1890, cylindrical form with footed base carved elliptical opening at shoulder, and recessed opening on top, the lead-glazed surface decorated with splashed copper and manganese over cream-colored slip. A 2" reglued piece at base. A 3/4" base chip. Base chips. A hairline extending from hole in top to hole at shoulder. Small flakes of wear along top edge. H 3 1/4" ; Diam. 7".
