Fine Manganese-Decorated Redware Jar, PA or New England origin, circa 1840-1880, cylindrical jar with footed base, heavily-tooled midsection, and semi-squared rim, the lead-glazed surface decorated with splashed manganese over a colorful, mottled ground featuring green, orange, and reddish hues. Incised "6" on underside. Excellent condition with two small in-the-firing pings to base and minor rim wear. H 9 7/8".
