Two Glazed Redware Jars, Norwalk, CT or Huntington, Long Island, NY origin, second quarter 19th century, one of ovoid form with tall collar and coggled shoulder, the other of ovoid form with tooled banding around midsection. Both with splashed manganese decoration and clear lead glaze. Provenance: A fresh-to-the-market lot, from a long-term New England collection. Taller jar with wear to rim and handles, some light surface wear around midsection, light base wear, and minor wear to coggling. Other jar with surface wear around midsection, some minor chips and wear to rim, and small base chips. H (of taller jar) 10 1/2".
