Manganese-Decorated Redware Jar, Norwalk, CT origin, circa 1840, ovoid jar with footed base, tooled shoulder, flared collar, and applied tab handles, the lead-glazed surface profusely-decorated with vertical columns of manganese daubs over a bright, mottled orange ground. Among the finest decorated and colored Norwalk jars that we have ever offered. Wear to rim and handles. Small chips to shoulder molding. Two small base chips. H 9 1/4".
