Four-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Grapes Decoration, Stamped "COWDEN & WILCOX / HARRISBURG," PA origin, circa 1865, ovoid jug with semi-rounded spout, decorated with a large brushed design of a cluster of grapes hanging from a leafy stem with corkscrewing vines. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals. A 1 1/2" x 1 1/4" hole to left side of jug. Some fry to cobalt. A small in-the-firing ping near base on front. A 7/8" thin worn spot to right side of jug.
