Two One-Gallon Stoneware Jars Stamped "JOHN BELL / WAYNESBORO'," PA origin, circa 1850-1880, both of cylindrical form with tooled shoulders and squared rims, decorated with brushed swags around the shoulder. Lighter jar in excellent, essentially as-made condition with some traces of old red and green paint to surface. Darker jar with a thin 4 3/4" crack extending from base and restoration covering underside, although a view of the interior base reveals no damage.
