Half-Gallon Stoneware Jar, Stamped Twice "C. CROLIUS, / MANUFACTURER, / NEW-YORK.", Clarkson Crolius, Sr., Manhattan, NY origin, circa 1815, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder and slightly-flared collar, dipped in a reddish-brown slip. Clarkson Crolius, Sr. maker's mark on front and reverse. Cracks from rim on front and reverse, extending to shoulder and midsection. Small rim chips. A small U-shaped surface crack to midsection on one side, not visible on interior. H 8".
