Three-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jar, Stenciled "THOMPSON & WILLIAMS CO / MORGANTOWN. / W. VA.," circa 1875, semi-ovoid jar with tooled shoulder, applied lug handles, and semi-squared rim, featuring Thompson & Williams maker's stenciling, freehand stripes below the rim and at base, and a freehand "3" to shoulder. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals. Excellent, essentially as-made condition.
