Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Canning Jar with Wheeling, WV Advertising, Western PA origin, circa 1880, cylindrical jar with recessed "wax sealer" rim, featuring the stenciled advertising, "H.F. BEHRENS. / GROCER. / 2217 & 2219 / MARKET STREET / WHEELING. W. VA. / SOUTH BRANCH 3601 / JACOB ST." Crazing throughout much of surface, most of which is on the front and sides of the jar. A minuscule nick to inner wax sealer rim and minor chipping to interior of rim. H 6 15/16".
