Five-Gallon Alkaline-Glazed Stoneware Jar, Edgefield District, SC origin, probably B.F. Landrum, circa 1850, highly-ovoid jar with raised lug handles and thin, semi-rounded rim, the surface covered in a pale-olive alkaline glaze. Very nice condition. Two small chips to one handle. A small chip to opposite handle. Some in-the-firing pings to surface. Some minor chips and wear to rim. Some in-the-firing surface fissures to interior base and underside, neither of which extend fully through to opposite side. H 16 1/2".
