Two Pieces of Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware, PA origin, circa 1875, a one-gallon batter pail with wreath decoration at base of spout, additional daubed cobalt decoration to front, swag motif on reverse, and cobalt-highlighted handle at base on reverse, Central PA origin; paired with canning jar with "wax sealer" rim, decorated with four stripes, Western PA origin. Batter pail with restoration to one ear, with additional restoration to the surface of pail around it, as well as to the rim above it. Additionally, a small unrestored chip to spout. Canning jar with some fry to cobalt, a shallow in-the-firing contact mark to top of rim, a minor chip to inner wax sealer rim, and a tiny base nick. H (of jar) 8".
